Hon. Brad Duguid, Ontario's Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure to address the Economic Club

11:45am-1:30pm | King Edward Hotel - 37 King Street East, Toronto

Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, will speak about the opportunities and challenges facing Ontario's economy today and into the future.

Ontario has long been the economic driver of the country, but shifts in the traditional landscape of manufacturing, the fluctuating dollar, the growing presence of aggressive industrializing nations, and a changing technological landscape have all left their mark on our economy. After faring well in the global economic downturn, the Ontario government is focusing on policy levers that further drive innovation and productivity, merge new sectors with well-established ones, and lay the foundation for long-term economic success. But, the private sector also has an important role to play. Minister Duguid will provide insights on how the government and the private sector can work together to gain strength from new challenges, and use government policies as a catalyst to capitalize on new opportunities, ensuring we are well positioned for the next generation economy.
