Guy Cormier

Guy Cormier has been President and CEO of Desjardins Group since 2016. He has worked for the cooperative for 28 years, becoming a caisse general manager in 2002, Vice-President of Finance in 2009, and joining Desjardins Group’s senior management team in 2012.

Since being elected President, Mr. Cormier has worked hard to instill a strong member- and client-focused culture that resonates with all of Desjardins’s employees and directors. On top of creating the $250‑million GoodSpark Fund, he’s also helped the organization grow and become a household name across the country.

As a champion of the cooperative model, shared prosperity, youth and a greener, more inclusive economy, Guy Cormier makes decisions that are based on the common good.

Mr. Cormier Guy is a graduate of HEC Montréal, where he earned both an undergraduate degree in business administration and an MBA. He also taught finance there for close to a decade. He currently sits on a number of boards and has been named a Chevalier of France’s Légion d’honneur.

Wendy is co-founder and CEO of Canadian Power to X Partners, CPXP, a hydrogen development company in Canada. Low-carbon hydrogen in one of the most promising prospects to decarbonize hard-to-abate sectors within the economy including Petrochemical refining, grid stabilization, heating and other industrial processes (e.g., steel production). Wendy and her team are dedicated to building the low-hydrogen industry in Canada working closely with a broad suite of stakeholders leveraging her industry expertise and leadership skills. With a pragmatic approach, CPXP targets being the lowest cost provider in the market.

Wendy has 20 years of experience in business building and principal investing across multiple technologies and jurisdictions within the renewable energy and clean technology sectors globally. She’s currently advising the Federal government on grid development as a member of the Canada Electricity Grid Council. She was formerly the Chief Strategy Officer, Head of Hydrogen and New Initiatives at Northland Power, where she successfully built the battery storage business, leading to financial close the Oneida 250MW battery storage project.

Prior to Northland, she was Senior Principal, Relationship Investments at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board where she managed a sizable investment portfolio spanning both private and public equity. Wendy served on the boards of Renew Power, one of the largest renewable power companies in India and Essential Utilities, a NYSE-listed water and natural gas utility. Prior to that, she was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company focused on risk management and corporate and investment banking.

Wendy holds a PhD in Bioelectronics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Zurich, Switzerland) as well as degrees in chemical and electrical engineering from the University of Waterloo.

Barbara Zvan is President and Chief Executive Officer of University Pension Plan Ontario (UPP). She is
responsible for realizing UPP’s strategies to deliver valuable, lifelong pension security, and service
excellence to UPP’s over 39,000 members while establishing UPP as the pension solution of choice for
Ontario’s university community.

Formerly the Chief Risk and Strategy Officer for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Barb is globally
recognized as a leading voice on sustainable investing and an ambassador for defined benefit pensions.
She was named Canada’s CEO of the Year and Corporate Citizen of the Year 2022 by the Globe and
Mail’s Report on Business magazine in honour of her contributions and leadership in both areas.

A sought-after responsible investing expert, Barb was appointed to the Government of Canada’s Expert
Panel on Sustainable Finance in 2018 and is an inaugural member of the Sustainable Finance Action
Council, which launched in 2021. On the global stage, Barb played a significant role in creating the G7
Investor Leadership Network and was named one of 26 Climate Champions by British High Commission
in Canada and the Canada Climate Law Initiative ahead of COP 26 in 2021.

She also serves on the boards of various organizations including the Responsible Investment Association,
Climate Engagement Canada, and the advisory board of the Institute of Sustainable Finance at the Smith
School of Business.

She holds a master’s degree in Math and Statistics from the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of
Science degree from McMaster University. She is a Fellow of the C.D. Howe Institute, a member of the
Institute of Corporate Directors, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), and a Fellow of
the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
