Sean Congdon


President & CEO, Colt Canada


Sean Congdon heads Colt Canada since March 2024. He is a versatile business leader who brings rich experience from the automotive industry. Sean worked at Ford Motor Company of Canada in various managerial positions in the machining department between 1993 -2004. He was the Group Vice President North America at Linamar Corporation where he worked between 2004 – 2023. His professional skills include business strategies, planning, technical skills in the area of product, process and quality systems. Sean is a graduate of McMaster University in Hamilton and holds MBA from the Queen’s University in Kingston.

The Honourable Bill Blair


Canada’s Minister of National Defence


The Honourable Bill Blair was elected as the Member of Parliament for Scarborough Southwest in 2015. He has previously served as President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Emergency Preparedness, as Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, and as Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction.

Before entering politics, Minister Blair served the people of Toronto for over 39 years, starting as a beat officer in downtown Toronto and continuing with assignments in drug enforcement, organized crime units, and major criminal investigations. In 2005, he was named Chief of the Toronto Police Service, overseeing the largest municipal police service in Canada, and one of the largest in North America. In this role, he oversaw important efforts to combat violent crime, while supporting local policing initiatives. He also served as President of both the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Chiefs of Police.

In recognition of his contributions to the policing profession, Minister Blair was named an Officer then a Commander of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces. He is the proud recipient of the 2011 Beth Sholom Brotherhood Humanitarian Award, a member of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, and was honoured in 2013 by the Canadian Tamil Congress for his leadership and tremendous service to the people of Toronto.

Minister Blair holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Criminology as well as a Certificate in Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Toronto, and a Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy, the Police Leadership Program from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and the National Executive Institute.

Janice Gross Stein


Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management & Founding Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, the University of Toronto


Janice Gross Stein is the Belzberg Professor of Conflict Management and the Founding Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.  She is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ontario and a frequent guest on the CBC and the BBC. She has a widely listened to podcast, Friday Focus, that appears every Friday and is a regular contributor to The Bridge, hosted by Peter Mansbridge. Most recently, she co-Chaired the National Advisory Committee on Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy for Canada’s Foreign Minister.

Remo Assini


President, IMT Precision, Division, IMT Group


Remo is the President of IMT Precision a key supplier of munitions and vehicle components to the defence sector. IMT Precision also supplies powertrain components to the auto sector and numerous other components to the oil & gas and rail sectors.

Remo began his career as a Manufacturing Engineer for a manufacturer in Southwestern Ontario. He was responsible for implementing new capital equipment and optimizing operational performance.

In 1984, Remo joined IMT Corporation in Ingersoll, Ontario as a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for new product launches. In 1995, he was promoted to Engineering Manager and shortly after was given the responsibility to manage one of the four IMT Business Units.

In Remo’s current role as President of IMT Precision, he is responsible for three Business Units with over 300 employees located in Ontario. His group is responsible for IMT’s munitions work along with contract machining and various metal treatment processes. With Remo’s leadership, IMT Precision has seen increased growth and product diversification. He has lead by fostering innovation, empowering the team and focusing on customer needs.

Remo is a Certified Engineering Technologist and has continued his professional development in management and leadership through various programs including the ‘Ivey Executive Program’ from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
